Manchester Inner Ring Road

Mancunian Way wasn't the original urban motorway for Manchester. In fact, it first opened as plain A57! It was the MIRR that was to do that job, creating a ring route around the centre of Manchester.

The motorway plan was abandoned very early into the planning stage, so never got allocated a number. Very few maps have been seen, with layouts only known for some junctions. See also Pathetic Motorways' pages on the M67 and M601.

Note: Junctions 1, 4, 5 and 6 also appear on Pathetic Motorways, where the junction layouts were first brought up and published on map. Credit lies with Steven Jukes for these junctions. The remaining junction layouts are so far unknown, the diagrams relate to what I believe to be the most likely layouts.
