A956: Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route

Forming part of the AWPR, the A956 will provide a link from the existing A90 route south of Aberdeen westwards to the new A90 bypass route. The road will be designated as a Special Route and constructed to dual carriageway standard.

The construction project is currently nearing the end of the public inquiry stage, and it is hoped that the road will be open in late 2010.

More details can be found at the scheme website. This project also links in with the proposed A90 route.
