A1246

About the Road

This road was once part of the A1, that is until 2005. Its new designation came about as a result of the opening of the A1(M) just to the east of this road. Consequently, most of the road was downgraded from dual to single carriageway, although a short dualled section still remains where the road terminates at the A162.
