A15

About the Road

A major route across the East Midlands, the A15 has a couple of claims to fame. First of all, it is the road that crosses the Humber Bridge, and secondly, has the straightest section of road in the UK - it is the ruler-straight road south of the Humber with the distinctive "bump" in it. This is where the road was diverted around RAF Scampton (where the Red Arrows are based, and the Dambusters were formed back in World War II).
