A8

About the Road

The main east-west road in Scotland, traditionally linking the two main cities. However, the M8 has pretty much taken over that job, apart from a small section between Junctions 6 and 8, where the A8 provides the link between the two. Plans to rectify this have been put forward, with the gap expected to be filled by 2011.
